S.W.A.T. Team Dispatched During Suicide Threat
Members of the Lawrenceburg Police Department S.W.A.T. Team were called out last week to intervene when a man allegedly threatening to commit suicide, made threats to attack police officers.
Units were dispatched on the attempted suicide call to the garage at an East Scott Street home at 8:11 p.m. Monday. Reporting officers indicate that the 46-year-old resident was clutching a hammer and threatening to attack anyone who came towards him.
Reports indicate that the man made multiple pleas for officers to shoot him. In the end, S.W.A.T. Team members were dispatched to assist. Officers indicate the man eventually agreed to leave the garage and seek help at Crockett Hospital.
